Hearing Care Assistants
For the last few months the Society has been working with Skills for Health and Anglia Ruskin University to develop a scope of practice and training programme for a new role within the independent hearing care sector.

Hearing Care Assistants will not be able to assess, test or prescribe hearing instruments with a view to a sale, but under the supervision of a registered hearing aid audiologist and with the right training, they can make a valuable contribution to patient care.

BSHAA is looking for d ispensing companies and sole practitioners who have an excellent support worker in their team and would you be interested in funding them, and supervising their training as a Hearing Care Assistant.

Starting in February, Anglia Ruskin University will be running our pilot programme for accredited Hearing Care Assistants – a six months University Certificate course of academic and work-place learning.
