The BSHAA Council

The BSHAA council is made up of individuals from a broad spectrum of interests within the 'hearing aid industry'. It has a paid Chief Executive Officer. The Council currently includes representatives from larger national companies, smaller 'family-run businesses' and also major hearing aid manufacturers and suppliers.  Council members give their time to the society on a voluntary basis save that they receive a "loss of business allowance" of £140 for attendance at quarterly Council Meetings. The CEO, Marketing Consultant and the Company Secretary are consultants and recevied a fee for their services. Council members have special responsibilities and interests within the council including:

  • Ongoing education.
  • Liaison with other bodies e.g. Health Professions Council, British Heath Trades Association, DTI, Department of Health, and the NHS.
  • Marketing issues.
  • Disciplinary issues relating to members.
  • Membership Support.

The Society holds a voluntary register of director’s Interests
