Caring for our Customers

Members of BSHAA are very conscious of the importance of customer care and are justifiably very proud of the high levels of service that they offer. They are registered with, and regulated by the Health Professions Council and have to meet the Council's own Standards of Professional Practice as well as those set by BSHAA.

Companies and sole traders can join the BSHAA Customer Care Scheme or by also joining our sister organisation, the British Healthcare Trades Association sign up to thier Consumer Code which is approved by the Office of Fair Trading.   Both these schemes  should re-assure customers that in the unlikely event of things going wrong, there would be someone to help.

Customer Care Scheme

BSHAA members do their utmost to ensure that their clients are satisfied with the hearing care they get. However, sometimes things do go wrong and the Society has set up a user-friendly Customer Care Scheme. In the unlikely event that you aren’t satisfied with the service you have been given you can be reassured that companies who have signed up will have a speedy, responsive and accessible procedure for customer complaints and that if they can’t resolve the issue to your satisfaction, the Society will offer conciliation and finally binding arbitration.

Consumer Code

The British Healthcare Trades Association requires its members to adhere to their Consumer Code, approved by the Office of Fair Trading, and which offers customers benefits beyond the protection afforded by law, thus giving them even more confidence in our service.   As part of its partnership with BHTA the BSHAA Customer Care Scheme is also the complaints resolution process within the OFT approved Consumer Code.
