BSHAA Membership

There are 4 categories of membership within BSHAA.

Associate Members

An individual can become an Associate member of BSHAA when proposed by two existing members. Associate membership is granted following approval by the BSHAA council. Associate members receive regular updates on BSHAA educational events and quarterly editions of the BSHAA News. Download an application form.

Students

Students studying Audiology can become an Associate Student (free of charge). Download an application form.

Members (MSHAA)

An individual can become a member of BSHAA by graduating with a Foundation degree in Audiology at a University approved by the Health Professions Council or   passing both parts of the Hearing Aid Council (HAC) examinations and completing the pre-registration period or completing one of the other training routes as detailed in the membership booklet.

Members of BSHAA have full voting rights within the society, and in addition to receiving regular updates through BSHAA News, they can attach the letters MSHAA after their name on all written material.  Download an application form

MSHAA status on its own does not permit an individual to dispense hearing aids. From 1 April 2010 registration will be required by The Health Professions Council to dispenser hearing aids.

Fellows (FSHAA)

An individual can become a Fellow of the society, once they become a qualified Member by either:

Passing the fellowship examination

or

By obtaining the requisite number of CPDs and submitting their CPD Portfolio together with a written summary (up to 750 words) of their professional activites during the previous 2 years and describe ways in which their CPD has enhanced their professional practice and has contributed to achieving your personal goals.- providing they are already members.

In addition to the benefits of membership, fellows may attach the letters FSHAA after their name, on all written material. See the Membership Booklet for full details
