July 21st 2011 - Society welcomes decision to open NHS hearing care to the private sector
The British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists has welcomed the extension of choice for hearing care announced by the Government this week, as "a step in the right direction". Under proposals outlined by the Health Secretary, Andrew Lansley, Adult Hearing Services will be available from Any Qualified Provider from 2013 and local health commissioners may open them up to competition from April next year if they choose to.
