The Society is run by an elected Council which is made up of individuals from a broad spectrum of interests within the membership. It includes people from larger national companies, small family run businesses, sole traders and also major hearing aid manufacturers and suppliers.  Council members give their time to the Society on a voluntary basis except they may claim a loss of business allowance of £180 for attendance at Council meetings.  The Council is assisted by paid officers including a Chief Executive, Professional Development Consultant and Marketing Executive.  They are consultants and receive a fee for their services.  Membership services and company compliance are contracted out to Executive Business Support Ltd.
There are a number of Council sub-committees responsible for delivering the various aspects of the Society's governance and service:   Professional Development, Practice Standards, Finance, Policy, Communications and Customer Services.  There are also working groups to deliver the annual Congress and the Website.
The Society holds a voluntary register of director's interests.
